Description

A 6U spacecraft. PARUS-6U1 is Taipei Tech’s first educational CubeSat developed by graduate students. In addition to RF communications and telemetry experiments, the satellite carries a imaging payload designed for student training in onboard data generation and S-band transmission. 1. S-Band Communication Testing – Students design and validate an onboard S-band transmitter for high-frequency communication training. 2. Attitude Control & Telemetry Learning – Basic ADCS control with moment wheel control and sensor data are used for student analysis and real-time telemetry interpretation. 3. VHF APRS Payload – A student-operated amateur radio digipeater enables other department students to participate in satellite uplink/downlink communication thru ground station at school. The project is fully educational, aiming to build student skills in aerospace and radio A key educational feature is the integration of an onboard camera system to capture wide-angle imagery (1937×1097, 141.98° FoV). Students will learn how to manage image acquisition, compression (MJPEG/H.264/H.265), and downlink via the student-developed S-band transmitter, enabling real-world training in high-speed data handling and space telemetry. To support the amateur community and fulfill the open-access spirit of the amateur-satellite service, all modulation methods, telemetry protocols, and downlink formats will be publicly available. Amateur radio operators worldwide can actively participate by: Tracking the satellite using published TLEs and decoding unencrypted telemetry; Transmitting APRS packets for digipeating on VHF; Analyzing telemetry and image downlink for educational collaboration; Sharing data and results through online SatNOGS Network and global amateur platforms. This mission advances the amateur-satellite service through student training, technical transparency, and open international engagement. Proposing a VHF APRS digipeater, a UHF downlink using 9k6 GMSK and an S Band downlink for image data using TDMA burst transmissions with a data rate of 750 kbps. Planning a SpaceX launch on the Transporter 16 mission from Vandenberg into a 550x600km polar orbit. The following frequencies have been coordinated, for APRS 145.825 MHz, for TT&C 437.195 MHz and for payload data 2402.000 MHz callsign:BN0TIT
