Phoenix is a 3U CubeSat developed by students from Arizona State University to study the effects of Urban Heat Islands in US cities through infrared remote sensing. For more information, please visit http://phxcubesat.asu.edu/
Following its deployment and successful initial telemetry downlinks and uplinks, Phoenix entered an error state following a loss of power event. The error state ultimately impacted the functionality of the cubesat’s onboard computer (OBC), rendering it incapable of completing the science objective. As a result, Phoenix no longer transmits a health beacon, but it is still capable of responding to low-level firmware commands that are sent to its transceiver.
To learn how you can communicate with Phoenix using your ground station, please see the ‘Amateur Ops’ page of the project website: http://phxcubesat.asu.edu/content/amateur-operations
