BIFROST-DNK is a Danish-Swedish microsatellite developed by Space Inventor, based in Aalborg, Denmark. It was launched on June 23, 2025, aboard a Falcon 9 rocket as part of the Transporter-14 mission. The satellite's main goal is Arctic surveillance, with a particular focus on monitoring Greenland and the North Atlantic. BIFROST is shaped as an 8U CubeSat and weighs around 50 kilograms. It's equipped with optical and infrared multispectral sensors, and features onboard AI for real-time data analysis. It has a deployable solar array with a wingspan of five meters and is designed for inter-satellite communication. Its mission objectives include tracking ships in icy regions, supporting search and rescue operations, monitoring sovereignty, and sharing data through international networks. BIFROST-DNK is intended to be part of a constellation of up to 20 satellites, providing continuous coverage of Arctic territories.
