Description

The Cluster II mission is a long-term study of the Earth's magnetosphere, flying in a pyramid-like formation on an elliptical polar orbit. The four spacecraft, called Rumba, Salsa, Samba and Tango, each carrying the same payload of 11 advanced instruments, were placed in orbit with two rocket launches on 2000 July 16 and 2000 August 9.
