Description

The QMSat mission is to demonstrate the feasibility and use of a new technology of quantum magnetometer (the payload, developed at the University of Sherbrooke by a postdoctoral student in electrical engineering) based on a nitrogen-vacancy diamond, which would allow 3d vectorial measurements of the earth’s magnetic field with a resolution that is estimated to be 2 orders of magnitude better than traditional, 1-axis magnetometer.
